Makeup on the beach: yay or nay?

Create a no-makeup makeup look. The goal of seaside makeup is to create the appearance of fresh-faced beauty (and always sticking to this theme). For this, choose a beach foundation with a light formula - even better if it has sun protection - that is suited to your skin type: a compact powder, liquid or stick format, along with the practical BB cream.

Take care in choosing the shade. Since you’ll be exposed to the sun, your skin will take natural colour. The key is therefore to choose a seaside foundation that is perhaps slightly warmer than what you use during the winter (to avoid a contrast between the tone of your face and neck and that of the rest of the body).

Every makeup-addict agrees: your makeup must be ready for any situation. If you plan to dive into the water or stay out all day - with the added risk of sweating - then waterproof products are an essential. 

Since you’ve opted for natural makeup, focus on the product that can really make the difference, which must never be missing from your travel beauty case: mascara. Don’t sacrifice your eyelashes’ volume-enhancing effect, even on holiday. Try a water-resistant mascara containing jojoba oil with nourishing properties.

Time to get smart: imitate the radiant effect that the sun’s rays give your face and use a highlighter to enhance your features. As the glow effect must be subtle, take care when choosing the areas of the face to highlight. Focus on the forehead (the centre), eyebrow arch, cheekbones, bridge of the nose, Cupid's arch and finally the tip of the chin.
