After graduating with honours in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Pavia, and following scientific research experience in organic chemistry at Celgene Corp. in the United States, Benedetta Suardi joined the multinational pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in the role of Quality Assurance-Global Product Release in the sterile injectable anaesthetics division. Since 2001 she has been Technical Director for various well-known cosmetics, skin care and make-up companies, dealing with the R&D of cosmetic products and equipment for professional aesthetics, Product Development, Regulatory Worldwide, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, and scientific communication. Benedetta is on the scientific committee of well-known industry magazines, as well as a member of the Technical Committee of Cosmetica Italia and the charity La Forza e il Sorriso, and gives courses/presentations for industry associations. Among other publications, she has written the Manuale del Cosmetologo (Cosmetologist's Manual), in collaboration with other authors.
